Preferred UK development agreement with Hilton Hotels

The globally renowned Hilton Hotel company highlighted rapid growth in the UK as a major tenet of their international diversification strategy. Recognising Shiva as a partner with excellent existing sites (including the landmark Terminal 5 development, and attractive Leeds and Derby city centre locations), a strong track record of rapid and sustainable profitable growth and the management expertise to maintain Hilton's high operating standards, Hilton entered into a preferred development alliance with Shiva. This demonstrates their confidence that Shiva will deliver on their aggressive growth commitment of [developing] 3,000 beds over the next five years. Furthermore, it should be noted that while Hilton have agreed partnerships with other operators for single brands, their arrangement with Shiva is truly unique - their first and only UK hotel franchise agreement for all Hilton brands.

Overview

Shiva’s 212 bed core brand Hilton conferencing hotel and 120 bed Hampton by Hilton truly imbue the essence of the well known expression “location, location, location”. The hotels are embedded in one of the City’s major mixed-use developments which also contains offices, casino, bars, restaurants, serviced apartments and a multi storey car park, and surrounded by the BBC headquarters, the West Yorkshire Playhouse and perhaps most significantly directly opposite the proposed one million square foot Hammerson City Centre redevelopment scheme where the anchor tenant is the John Lewis partnership.
